Karen prepares to insert the first bite of cereal ... a brand new experience for Miss Piper!

She was VERY confused by the whole thing.

Out of context, I would say that this picture probably represented her response to an attack by Godzilla, or possibly rabid lemurs. As is ... you can see her death grip on the spoon.

"What the heck is HE doing with my bowl?!"

So Xander decides to help feed the baby. First attempt - Karen stops him from pushing the spoon ALL the way in.

After that, he did pretty good!

The rest of this are from my feverish attempts to finish R2 ... with Xander's help, naturally. If he hadn't been there to eat my drill bits, I don't know WHAT I would have done.

I love that look on his face. You can see R2 off to the side, upside down and mostly covered so I could paint a few areas on the underside.

And this is the cart I made to haul R2 around on. You will notice that it turns out to be just Xander sized.

So with a quick lift ...

Put him in the middle ...

WHEEEEEEE!

I will be building a soapbox racer for him soon.

No seriously, I am. He had WAY too much fun with this.

So after all that ... R2 was a ring bearer in a wedding!

The bride and groom ... and R2!

The bride hitting the classic Leia pose. She RULES!

Matt Giddens and R2.

Awww. Hallmark moment.

Karen is turning into quite the photographer!

BALLOONS!

Awwww.

Karen says: "Witness the cute!"

Allison has more pictures of the wedding (and R2!) here: http://www.pixagogo.com/0784694172
and a short video is here:

R2 actually had the ring extend from the dome - it's hard to tell, we didn't have a good angle to take pictures, and I was manning a remote control anyway - but I'm delighted to have video!

I have video of a test shot of the ring mechanism - http://www.evan.org/r2/Progress/MVI_6547.avi - it closed properly during the wedding, though!
